Jacquelyn began the Suzuki method at the age of three in her hometown of Forth Worth, Texas. At five, she discovered a love for the piano and her natural ability to perform was quickly recognized at the National Guild of Piano Teachers where she was one of the youngest performers ever to memorize and perform 15 two-part Bach Inventions. Showcased as the second place winner of a national “String without Bow” competition in 1997, Jacquelyn performed a Bach Sonata for String Bass on electric bass guitar. She began her college education that same year at the University of North Texas. With a diverse musical background and an eagerness to perform, she auditioned at the Curtis Institute in 1999 where she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree (2003). As a horn performance major, Jacquelyn has earned a Master of Music Degree from Yale University (2005) and a Doctorate of Musical Arts at SUNY Stony Brook (2011). She has participated in numerous music festivals including the Bard Summerscape Opera Festival, Opera Festival of New Jersey, the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival in Graz, Austria, and the Colorado College Summer Festival.

Ms. Adams resides in New York City but stays in transit pursuing a unique and multi-faceted career. She just recently returned from promoting Genghis Barbie’s debut CD on their West Coast 2011 Tour, where she performed at Pier 23, the Revolution Cafe (SF) and San Francisco State University. Jacquelyn has performed with a variety of artists and ensembles such as the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Fort Worth Symphony, Albany Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Princeton Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Metropolitan Ballet Orchestra, the National Symphony of the Dominican Republic, Gary Morgan Pan-Americana Big Band, Jones Factor Big Band, Kanye West, Luciano Pavarotti, Il Divo, multiple Broadway pit orchestras and various NYC based jazz orchestras; she also records regularly for NFL Films. She has performed behind Kanye West at the both the Fleet Center and Wachovia Center, performed in the American Airlines Center behind Pavarotti, and has been onstage in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Verizon Hall multiple times with various orchestras. In NYC, Jacquelyn has played Webster Hall, Sullivan Hall, DROM nyc, Arlene’s Grocery, Mercury Lounge, Le Poisson Rouge, the Brooklyn IKEA, Galapagos Art Space and other reputable venues with her own musical projects. Television appearances include CBS’s “The Early Show,” Disney’s “Step Up 3D,” and BET’s 2007 Music Awards.

In 2010, Jacquelyn collaborated with Moody Mammoth Productions to release her first two music videos: “Comes Around” and “Perfect Day, Elise.” Among other things, she is excited to promote Prodigal Children, Genghis Barbie and GiNGER AND THE BEAT. Prodigal Children features all original music composed by Jacquelyn and Brad Kerr Green. A co-founder and former member of Genghis Barbie, she made her radio debut LIVE on WFMU Radio’s “Seven Second Delay,” placed 3rd in WNYC’s “Battle of the Boroughs” and performed with the quartet at the International Horn Symposium 2011. Jacquelyn is pleased to continue to promote their Debut CD, a ground-breaking collection of pop arrangements that has sent serious waves through the horn world. GiNGER AND THE BEAT was birthed for NYC’s American Cancer Association’s “Relay for Life” Benefit. They continue to amaze with Scott Fanzo’s ridiculous bass playing, Rene Ferrer’s virtuosic guitar solos and Dennis Sullivan’s rock solid beat. These guys are fun and a great live show. Ms. Adams also devoted much of 2009-2011 teaching a Music Appreciation course at Lehman College and performing with the Lehman Faculty Woodwind Quintet.
